Update on the Lockjaw: Don't Worry, I'm Even More Hilarious Today

I found an old mouthguard that I was supposed to start wearing like five years ago. Incidentally, I think that was the last time I went to the dentist. Whoops a daisy! Here is an awesome picture of me wearing it:

I keep laughing because it feels funny and I think I look sort of funny. Also, I'll randomly kind of gag on it, then laugh even harder. I'm not sure how this will go...

In other news, I have a dentist appointment on Thursday, which will hopefully help with the whole "jaw not opening all the way" thing. It's still not completely back to normal, and it's been over 48 hours! It's opening a bit more (about two fingers worth, as is the dental terminology), but still not all the way. There's little to no pain, which could be a result of the constant advil I've been taking, and little discomfort. To be honest, it's not terrible. Well, except for, as Sarah pointed out on the phone yesterday, I can't eat sandwiches. To which she replied "that sounds like an emergency to me!"

Tonight, I'll get more massage work from Genia - she did some Sunday night and I think it helped. Tonight I will also sleep with a mouthguard in and try not to gag or laugh my way to sleep. I'll keep you all updated with more awesome, flattering pictures. Thanks for all the nice words and concern, lovelies!

enjoy your protected sleep! i used to wear a mouthguard to stop the grinding, now i've graduated to a CPAP machine to keep me breathing. yep, nothing is sexier than wearing a tube strapped to your nose blowing air to keep your esophagus open. -k

Good luck! I started wearing a mouthguard this past week at night because apparently I was grinding my teeth so bad, they have become completely flat. And teeth aren't supposed to be flat. I actually kind of like wearing it, but I'm not sure exactly why.

And yes, it is all totally sexy.

I have a mouth guard too for teeth grinding, but I never wear it. This may be why I have a lot of headaches. So, yeah, all your friends are nerds. You should see me in my glasses.
